Closet Compass started out of a realization that New Yorkers really need a system to manage their wardrobe; A greener solution. It’s very simple really, New York is at the epicenter of fashion and the changing trends yet it could possibly have the smallest closets and least storage space in its millions of apartments. New Yorkers need someone to help manage their growing collection of must-haves. We are here to alleviate the frustrations of an overflowing closet.
Julie Lieberman, the owner, decided to start Closet Compass after attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and working with a prominent interior design house in Miami. She moved to New York and found herself trying to squeeze her wardrobe into a New York-sized closet. While she had a difficult time parting with her things she found that customizing and streamlining her wardrobe was liberating and wanted to share that experience. After working with a friend in her designer resale business, Julie decided to start Closet Compass and combine the two concepts.
She lives by the mantra "if you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it." Don’t hold up valuable space in your closet or your home with things that you don’t love, wear or use. Let her help you make the best out of your wardrobe and give you the direction you need to keep it growing and looking fabulous!

Closet Compass helps New Yorkers solve their space issues while actually making them a buck. It is not a custom closet company who will install shelving or a personal shopping service that leaves you with a pile of unwanted clothes but rather, it is a service that helps you reduce, restructure and resell the garments you already have. Unlike closet cleaning services out there, Closet Compass’s wardrobe managers make house calls and eliminates the remnants after a full service wardrobe assessment and edit. On top of that, the even bigger difference is that our managers make the closet cleaning experience a profitable one!
